NICHOLSON, Ga. -- For the right price, you can live like a celebrity right here in metro Atlanta.

Grammy Award-winner Kenny Rogers' luxury estate will hit the auction block on June 26.

The artist and entertainer used to escape the hustle and bustle of the city at his 5,600-square-foot Polynesian-inspired home in Nicholson, outside Athens.

"He lives nearby in Atlanta and was actually here a good deal with his twin boys and wife," said Jared Foerst with Grand Estates Auction Company, which is holding the auction. "The style of architecture he chose is unique for this locale, but definitely attracts attention on its own."

Custom built in 2009, the five-bedroom, five-and-a-half-bathroom retreat has Rogers' imprint, as he worked closely with the designer when creating the cozy home. Foerst said Rogers' style choices can be seen in everything from the fabrics to the furnishings to the brands of high-end kitchen appliances.

Situated on 150 acres of virgin forest, it will go to the highest bidder June 26 through "absolute auction."

"Absolute auction means there is no reserve or a minimum," Foerst said.

That also means the home is move-in ready and comes with absolutely everything -- from the furniture to the go-karts and the pontoon for enjoying the eight-acre lake, stocked with bass.

The property also includes a heated pool, fenced horse pasture, miles of wooden riding trails, an in-ground trampoline and zip line.

Ahead of the auction, Foerst is charged with figuring out who the serious potential buyers are.

"Part of my job, which is frustrating, is determining whether there's interest because of who owns the house, interest in the house itself or owning a piece of a legend," Foerst said.

Potential homeowners must pay a refundable registration fee, in the form of a certified check, of $100,000 to be eligible for bidding.

Tours for serious buyers will be held June 22 through an hour before the auction next Tuesday afternoon.
