ATHENS, Ga. -- Germany's consul general to Atlanta is set to give a talk at the University of Georgia on the European common currency.
The talk by Lutz Gorgens, "Ten Years of the Euro: Reason to Celebrate?" is set for Feb. 14 at 5 p.m.
Gorgens is the official representative of the German government to the southeastern United States. He has served as consul general in Atlanta since 2007 and previously headed the European Internal Market Affairs unit of the Federal Foreign Office in Berlin.
He has also served in Turkey, Tunisia, Mexico and the United Kingdom, among other nations.
The talk is free and open to the public.
