ATHENS | Rabid raccoon found near airport | News
ATHENS, Ga. -- A rabid raccoon was found near Athens-Ben Epps Airport last month, public health officials announced Wednesday.
The animal, which was found on Feb. 22, was confirmed rabid this week.
Public health officials urge pet owners to stay up-to-date on rabies vaccines and to keep away from wild animals, especially ones that are acting strangely.
