Bulldogs' Caldwell-Pope Named to SEC All-Freshman Team

ATHENS, Ga. -- University of Georgia guard Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, who averaged 13.6 points and 5.2 rebounds per game during the regular season, was named to the 8-man Southeastern Conference All-Freshman team, as voted by the SEC's 12 head coaches, the league office announced today.

Caldwell-Pope, a native of Greenville, Ga., led Georgia in scoring for much of the season.  He also had team-high numbers in minutes played (32.2/game), steals (55), 3-pointers (64) and defensive rebounds (112).  He enters the postseason as the SEC's fourth-leading scorer among freshmen, its sixth-leading rebounder.  Among all players in the SEC, Caldwell-Pope ranks 11th in scoring, fourth in steals and fifth in 3-pointers made per game.

Kentucky forward Anthony Davis was named the SEC Player of the Year  and its Freshman of the Year.
