ATHENS, Ga. -- 11Alive News reporter Jerry Carnes is following a 24-hour bone marrow drive in Athens.
The bone marrow drive is being held to find a match for a girl named Kajal Patal, a twelve-year-old student at Athens Academy.
Volunteers are planning to challenge a Guinness Word Record mark of 2400 bone marrow tests during a single event -- the title is currently held by Ohio University.
Testing will be conducted at the following locations:
The Omni Club at 2361 West Broad Street in Athens from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
Ramsey Center at the University of Georgia from 6:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m.
Tate Student Center at the Center of the UGA campus from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
