Play Ball for Children's Healthcare of Atlanta

LAWRENCEVILLE – The inaugural Gwinnett Baseball Classic will be held on Wednesday, March 9th, beginning at 7PM. This matchup at Coolray Field is between two premiere college baseball teams, University of Georgia and University of Alabama.

Proceeds from this game will benefit the Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta: Children’s Foundation. Tickets for the game will be sold at the door for $12 and doors open at 6PM.

Coolray Field is located at 1 Braves Avenue in Lawrenceville.

Three Major Spring Garden Sales at UGA April 9
Great news for gardeners; Plantapalooza takes place in Athens Saturday, April 9. This year the State Botanical Garden of Georgia, the Trial Gardens at UGA and the UGA Horticulture Club are holding their plant sales on the same day. This is a great opportunity for people throughout the region to come to Athens to speak with experts, get assistance in choosing plants, visit two gardens, and purchase plants from three large, unique plant sales.

Reunions continue to grow in popularity as groups, friends, and extended families make extra efforts to reconnect by bringing everyone together for reunion weekends.  The current economy has reunion organizers searching for budget-friendly and convenient locations. As a service to reunion planners, the Athens Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB) will host a free Reunion Planning Workshop on Saturday, February 12, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon at Holiday Inn Express, located at 513 W. Broad Street in Athens.

Want to impress your family members, well come out to Academy Sports + Outdoors for Turkey Frying Demonstrations on Saturday, November 20th from 10:00 a.m until 4:00 p.m.  

Customers have the opportunity to learn how to properly and safely fry turkey at Academy Sports + Outdoors. Turkey frying pros will be on-hand to teach techniques and give tips on how to make a Thanksgiving turkey.

Academy Sports + Outdoors is located at 3305 Atlanta Highway in Athens.
